sep. 20th, 2012 Trip Bermuda

We hired a CEO, our life should be les  busy. But the first 2 weeks are very busy with training and build up trust. he is ambitious and eager to learn. More eager with money of course. We almost double his income when he got hired. Feels like He is willing to do anything . He came for 2 weeks and took over a lots of staff. I am looking forward to be hands free. Soon, I will be able to have free time do what I like. 

Sep. 20th, Friday, we wake up 4:00am, left Halifax to new york . Then 4 hrs transit to Bermuda. This is the 3rd place I saw have flower grown on the tree here. Martinique and Hawaii have the same feature: fantastic beach, fine sand, lots of green, tropical weather. These are all the heaven place on the earth. Bermuda locate at Atlantic ocean, close to Miami , warm all year around, 16 degree is the coldest in winter , rich people comes from all over the world live here . Roads are not straight, left side driving like England. It has the highest density of church in the world. 

Bermuda has the finesse sand here, soft like baby skin, clear water -light green color. Horse shoe beach is the #1 beach here, mixed with big public beach and small private beach hidden between rocks. Bermudian said the reefs stopped hurricane , reef is the sign of god protect island. 

Island is controlled by England queen, she comes to here quite often . Bermuda Has its local currency. 1:1 to USD , there must be lts f rich one lives here to set up a currency just for the island . Only  60,000 people lives here, house price starts 1 million , some area, house price is 5 million and up. Downtown are banks and insurance companies sign everywhere, fells like a commons wealth island . Business tax must be very low here . But, import tax is high, so live stand is extremely high here . Apartment rental is 1000to 1500 to start.  Gas is $8.00 per gallon. My taxi driver was an electrician but can not find job. Island is full , everywhere is building and house. No more land to build, all house are conquid, even roof is cement . Lot of black people here. Believe the original bermudiciom is rare now, can not seed them on the street. Over 50% is black, but very pretty face and body. Better looking than Martinique or Hawaii . 

Bermuda Food here is more American , only difference is there is a lot of local sea food : lobster, spiny lobster, rock fish , grouper, snapper , queen conch. I will have to eat conch here, first night ate rock fish with rice, fantastic . Rock lobster is so so as they cooked it with cream , only way to eat spiny lobster is raw, I have to reach them , there is a best local Restrauant called black house, we will go to find out more seafood there later . 

Bermudian did not like I asked them the triangle thing, a kind of defensive when I mentioned , triangle strengths from Bermuda to Mexico and purto Rico. There is a lot of Iron at sea bottom which mess up all  equipment function on boat and aircraft, then they crack and sink. Treasure hunt must be very popular here . In fact, one guy diving , found crystal cave: a massive cave under ocean, clear water inside cave, you have to diving to see it. 

We spent a day in beach, south Hampton fair mount hotel beach is next door to horse shoes beach, I went to swimming and found out the white sand came from the rock, all the reef there are snow white inside. Big wave started after 2:00pm, blur green color sea wave end with fine white sand wirily in the middle, very pretty and unique . 

Sunday, sep.21st, we went to crystal cave and old capital of Bermuda. 

The cave is 95 feet under ocean, 2 teenage boys found it by accident, they try to find the lost ball from a hole under ground. End up they went inside a huge cave formed millions years ago, cave has ocean water inside, connect with ocean, has high tide and low tide. Blue ocean color reflect the colorful stone, magnificent, can not describe with my words . Boys sold to a family, they own the caves for over one hundred years and sent diver to discovered over 100 caves connected at under sea . 

Bermuda is an volcano island, volcano never reactive, but the top of the volcano forms a 4 miles wide platform, many fish lives there,  rich resource . After 4 miles is thousand meter deep ocean. Bermuda is the only land amount Atlantic Ocean. Warm all year around, tropical weather. 

We ride the motorbike all day , I got two big lump at my butt. Again, first time sit so long on motorbike . 

We went to the old capital St. George's. native people all live there, boats landed st. George's when they discovered Bermuda, then slaves, prisoners are moved there to build Bermuda from there. Majority native are black. We went to "the black house Restrauant " , local said it is the best, but is so expensive, $45 for main course, more than our 5 star Fairmont hotel.  This island has big issue with food. Tobacco bay is the local snorkeling place, water is clear, lots of reef, first time I did snorkeling , feels same as diving, I saw a huge fish chasing a group of fish and caught one to eat. Many color for big fish, more than Corisa. Water wave a lot, first a couple of times, I can not go down and have to adjust mask, but, when true beautiful ocean in front of me, I forgot all the uncomfortable and just go chasing fish. A lots of fish here lik to form group and swimming together , small size, middle size . Big fish is alone, I saw a long fish, 6 feet or more . 

Tobacco beach is peaceful, like other part of the Bermuda, quiet , ocean with reef under sun , only sound is wave hits reef. 

I sat on room patio, watch the sunset, even it was little cloud, the sunset still touched me . My cell phone is broken, for the first time, I can hold my iPad , not cell phone , no any business in my mind , I can just enjoy sunset without think anyone. This kind of true me is very rare. I live with business. 

We drove around island, try to learn more about island and find a Restrauant at same time . Always remember to drive at left side, like England , hard to remember at beginning, felt funny to see car coming and turning . We spent over 1 hour before sit inside a Restrauant : very surprise to find out the meal has lots of Chinese ingredient inside-- it is a Srilanka chef learned cooking from Vancouver . This is the top chain in the island, but food is really soso, this island really needs good food. But, I found a good wine. A italian sparkling champion, sweet and like ice wine.  Love it. 

Went to sleep earlier in the night , Monday , Sep. 24th, we have a big thing waiting -- deep sea fishing . He booked a 43 feet fishing boat, again, for the first time, I am going deep sea fishing. commercial fishing is prohibit here. Every family are allowed to catch some fish per year. Fished and can get license from government to catch and sell to local Restrauant , no fish export either, we saw cargo jet at airport, it comes daily to bring all kinds of foods to supply the island. Bermudian said the land here is too small and fully occupied , no room to grown enough food for the 67,000 residents and their guest . Mainly depends on importing . 

Wake up 7:00, we arrived boat at 8:00, captain nick and peter is there waiting for us. Our boat called " reel hot " . Real big fishing boat, it takes sea very well. Big cabin with open space at back, 3 sitting chair at back, 2 at side close to cabin for relaxing and watching ,one in the middle of boat , high raised , back of he chair has a shelf to hold 4 rods, like a chair of the king with 4 weapon . captain sits 2nd layer, rarely come down .George's bought the sea sick pile for me, end up, he took one. I did not. Sea is little rough. Wave all the way. I was sleepy for the fist 30min. , peter sets the gear right after we left the wharf, we have 4 rods , 3 at back of the boat, one at the back of middle chair. Peter lines rods nicely so they will not tangle together . 

Delingling......all of sudden I saw Peter starts to grab the rod, 3 rods moving violently and made a big noise---fish is there. Mine rod is yellow color, I took mine and sit on the middle chair. Man .... Never know to turn the wheel of rod is so hard, captain came down, as we have 3 fishes hocked, he told me to lift up rod , turn wheel only when I lower down the rod. Once...twice....ten...twenty ....I used all my strength to fight with the fish. My rod bended like circle, I starts to screaming to gather energy, sweat, exhausted , after 20min. Of exercise , I finally see my fish---a huge Wahoo---6 feet or longer, over 50 Lb, my goodness, this is the biggest fish I every caught in my life. Beautiful shining blue color skin, sharp mouth, longer than me . No wonder I am so tired to catch it. George's fish is about half of mine, same as captain's. George's told me the noise I made is like Japanese on bed, never stop. Sexy . 

Wa, 3 Wahoo at same time, we felt like take drug, hi right away. Captain said he doesn't understand, last week, whole week, almost no fish, yesterday, he only got one. Today, fist hour, we got three. I set a gaol of catch 200lb in today's fishing trip, He told us loudly " I like the girl !. "  3 hours later, 11:00, we caught 6 fishes , big, small, mine still is the biggest . Average one fish every 30min., Captain is very happy.  I already got tired after fighting and yielding and pulling with fish. Even my rod caught fish, I asked George's to get it. We ate lunch and I took a snap, there's no single fish during my snap. I went to touch every rod , not for long, we caught fish again ! I really starts to believe I have luck with fish, 

I fight very hard with a small fish, Peter said it is Wahoo season , just started season, Restrauant pays same price for big and small Wahoo, this is the most favorite fish for local people . Market price now is 6.50/lb. for the effort I put, I want to sell my fish @10.00/lb plus 17%. ( Bermuda charges 17% tip with bill, you have to pay does not matter what service you get) . To be a fisherman is not easy, to catch fish like this all day is very tiring. 2:00pm, captain announced we caught 10 fishes, times to go back, this is a record very hard to bit. We got about 300lb of Wahoo.  George's also caught a small fish --still over 10lb fish with big teeth, captain said this fish will bring luck of the catch shark . 

It is a great victory fishing trip. Georges caught a big wahoo as well, we marked fish. We got fish king and queen. About 3 fish over 45 lb. we got abundant happiness and gave all the fish to captain, empty handed went back to hotel . Dinner, we ordered wahoo to try the taste ^_^

Taxi driver said he never catch Wahoo in his life, we could give him a small piece for taxi fare , he will be so happy . 

This fishing trip is one of my best memory . 

Sep.25th, my birthday . I lying down on bed from breakfast , read few email, watch "the voice of china" . He is reading besides me . Bird is singing outside , little breeze from the ocean , our room is just ocean front , i see boat moving outside . Peaceful , no any noise , hope when I am old, I can have every day like this. I told myself, I want a room like this : close to ocean , can see sunset . One day, I will , the feeling is really good here. 

Nothing is perfect, we fly back to halifax today. something happened , when I did massage on Saturday , the lady told me I am dehydrated , I did not pay attention, after 2 more days in the ocean and not enough water, I got urine affection , blood all over the sink . George's took good care of me, he took luggage , besides me , went to pharmacy , he upgrade all the seats to business class. I took this ad birthday gift . 

This is the 2nd most expensive island I ever been . St. Bathe is the most expensive one. But, the memory in this island is the best. Just because of the deep sea fishing . I have such good memory . Love it .
